There is nothing better than getting to delve deeper into a well known game franchise. This was the case with the highly acclaimed Gears of War 2. Gamers are brought back to the world of the Earth-like planet of Sera, and shows us the heroic actions of Delta Squad. The game takes place six months after Delta squad detonated a massive bomb that killed many of the vicious creatures known as the Locust. The Locust Queen has begun attacking the last remaining human city, known as Jacinto, and Delta Squad must lead on assault on the Locust home.
The gameplay has stayed true to the original game that gained a cult following, and yet they have added many new elements to enhance the fast paced action of the game. This includes one of the game's coolest new features, the chainsaw battle, where the gamer will engage his chainsaw and battle their foes until there is one winner. The multiplayer gameplay gives gamers a wide variety of different battle choices, including the ever popular Execution battle, where gamers have to get up close and personal to finish off their enemy, and Horde, where a single team will have to fight wave after wave of Locust armies.
The story is filled with nonstop action and heart-wrenching moments where key characters face ultimate doom and the members of Delta Squad must face much hardship. Gamers will be thrilled with the direction the game designers have taken the Gears of War series, and I give the game as a whole a 10/10, for it never looses pace and the action and story never stop getting better.
