Alan Wake

Any Stephen King fans out there? Then you are going to love Alan Wake, the horror/psychological thriller/action-adventure game that blends jumps and scares with detailed and enigmatic story telling. Full of realistic visuals, breathtaking scenery, and action-packed levels that blend elements from television, books, music, and video games.
The game takes place in Bright Falls, a small town with a dark past. Bestselling writer Alan Wake travels to Bright Falls with his wife, Alice, to enjoy a peaceful vacation and rejuvenate the creative well that has suddenly gone dry in his mind. While on vacation, his wife suddenly disappears, and Alan "wakes" up to find himself in a car crash, a week having passed and no sign of his wife. Alan must go in search of his wife, and learn the terrible secrets the town and its inhabitants harbor. While investigating, he soon realizes that a new novel he has no memory of writing is suddenly becoming a reality in the town, and he must battle his way through infected citizens and dark entities that will stop at nothing to keep his wife and him separated.
The game is truly unique, using the format of the game like a television show, with each level being an episode of the TV series. Each episode explores the town and the mystery surrounding it, delving into deep mythology and rich texture. Using a third-person shooter format, the game is extremely fluid, moving at a fast pace and making the game run smoothly. The game also features amazing music, blending alternative music with hard rock music, and somehow blending it into the game's characters.
Overall, i give this game a 10 out of 10, for it is unique, rich in story and game play both, and allows for gamers to enjoy it and find something new over and over again. With new DLC's planned and a second game possible, we cannot wait to see how the mythology of Alan Wake will unfold.
